CHANGE – Clyde Semmoh Tribute
Part of No Where To Wear
Friday 20th of March – Club UP / De Kring
(!!) ENTRANCE via De Kring - Kleine Gartmanplantsoen 7-9
Clyde Semmoh meant a lot to both De Kring and Club UP. As a DJ, skater, stylist, photographer, and above all a remarkable presence, Clyde helped shape many of the nights that defined this place. For over a decade he regularly played on Friday and Saturday evenings, bringing new energy, new people and a broader, younger crowd into the building.
Those who were there remember the atmosphere: the lines outside, the music inside, and Clyde behind the decks with the ease of someone who truly belonged in the room.
Beyond the DJ booth, Clyde lived many lives. In the late 80s he became a world-renowned skater, travelling across the globe while building a reputation in the international skate scene. Back in Amsterdam he ran the store Vibes on the Singel, bringing American skate culture to the city. Later he became known as a stylist and photographer, always moving effortlessly between street culture and classic style.
At De Kring and Club UP, Clyde often together with longtime friend Dimitri Madimin helped open the doors to a new generation of visitors.
Their nights became a fixture in the building’s nightlife history.
CHANGE is a tribute to Clyde: a night to celebrate the music, the community and the spirit he brought to the dancefloor. Expect DJs, friends and familiar faces coming together to remember him the way he would have appreciated most. Through music and shared moments.
This night is part of No Where To Wear, the evening where all the outfits that never had their moment finally do.
